Ugh! There is so much click bait and snake oil over the internet, and I swear it has gotten significantly worse since the whole pandemic thing started.
At least once a week, if not more, I see articles telling me how I could be spending my time earning a βpassive incomeβ and be living my dreams as an entrepreneur. However, they all tend to leave out the fact that they either have large friend groups, started advertising campaigns, or leveraged their existing online presence to gain popularity.
As someone that has found small but gradual success on small projects, here is my opinion on what it takes to gain traction with a niche.
1. Stop Fantasizing Over Common Niches
Chances are if you are copying an idea that came to you from a blog post or video, you are pursuing an unoriginal idea. In fact, the idea might be so unoriginal that people are making money by telling you how good of an idea it is.
If you are not thinking for yourself, the idea you have is not going to work.
