I wouldn’t say get rid of portfolios but I certainly agree this is a growing problem.


Personally I think devs need to have some background in all layers of computing because most of the time bugs are not just a project or framework issue.

I think these boot camps need to cover networking and tooling. Every job I’ve had involved jumping around bash files and diagnosing lower level issues such as DNS.

There is so much more then just clicking a button and saving to a database.
